Saudi Oil Money and the Iraq War

The Iraq war has been funded by debt. This debt was accrued by selling treasury bonds(Economics 101). The total Iraq war debt in fiscal year 2005 was around 200 Billion Dollars. Ironically, Saudi Arabia has concurrently invested 200 Billion in US Treasury Bonds. In theory, you could say that Saudi oil money has funded the Iraq war. With Bush's close ties to the Saudi's and Iraq being a competing oil producer in the same area as Saudi Arabia, questions certainly arise to the real motives behind the Iraq war. Let us know what do you you think.
